Thoda aaram bhi zaroori hai
Half of what we plan is a holiday, not a pilgrimage. Hills, forest and coast — at a pace that suits parents and grandparents, with the same sattvik kitchens and the same manager on the phone.
Uttarakhand · 2–3 nights · 240 km from Delhi
Where the Ganga leaves the hills and the plains begin. Rishikesh works for almost everyone — the devout come for the aarti and Neelkanth Mahadev, the tired come for a room facing the river and nothing on the schedule.
Rishikesh is the road-head for Char Dham. Most of our Uttarakhand yatras begin with a night here, so it is easy to add two more at either end.
Uttarakhand · 2–3 nights · 35 km from Dehradun
The Queen of the Hills, and the easiest Himalayan town in India to visit with elderly parents. Everything worth seeing sits along one road or at the top of a ropeway — there is very little that demands a climb.
Surkanda Devi, one of the Shakti Peeths, is about an hour away at Kaddukhal. A short ropeway now covers most of the old 2 km climb to the shrine.
Kumaon, Uttarakhand · 3 nights · 2,285 m
If Mussoorie is the busy hill station, Mukteshwar is the opposite. Orchards, deodar and one of the widest Himalayan panoramas in Kumaon — Nanda Devi, Trishul and Panchachuli strung across the horizon on a clear morning. There is almost nothing to do here, which is the point.
The Mukteshwar Dham Shiva temple gives the village its name — moksha-ishwar, the lord of liberation. Golu Devta at Ghorakhal is a two-hour drive.
Uttarakhand · 2–3 nights · on the Kosi river
The town at the gate of Jim Corbett, India's oldest national park. Safari permits are limited and released on a fixed schedule, so this is one destination where booking early genuinely decides what you see.
Garjiya Devi sits atop a rock in the Kosi, reached by a flight of steps and busiest at Kartik Purnima. Nainital's Naina Devi temple is two hours away.
Konkan coast · 4–5 nights · flights from most metros
Goa has two faces, and most families are sold the wrong one. We keep our stays on the calm stretches — Palolem, Betalbatim, Mandrem — where the sea is gentle, the roads are quiet and nobody is playing music at midnight.
Goa's Ponda temples — Mangueshi, Shantadurga, Mahalasa — were rebuilt inland when the coastal shrines were destroyed. A half-day covers all three.
These five are simply the ones we are asked for most. We plan the rest of the country on exactly the same terms.
Call or message and a planner will come back within one working day with a day-by-day plan and a clear fare. Nothing to pay until you approve it.
